Trailers, design and manufacturing

Mule mount tilts up when not in use.

NCM are the initials representing Nathanael and Conrad Martin. We have been in the storage shed moving industry since 2013. Conrad has designed and built the shed hauling trailers that we use. He has pioneered the pivoting tail, which is extremely handy in tight spots, both loading and setting sheds. This page is a way to illustrate and describe our designs to other shed haulers.

Presently I am running one of the three operating trailers. (The 2019, 23-48 ft., tail steering model will eventually be for sale also.) I sold one. And I am offering the trailer pictured. It is in working, more or less refurbished and repainted condition. (Fixed like we would run them ourselves.)

The trailers are in southwestern PA. This one extends to 50ft. from gooseneck. Tail rollers extend to 12ft. wide. I am offering for $25,000. OBO. I hauled sheds with it for four years, 180 miles one way. So I made good use of the length. I usually had a 48-52 ft. long combination load. (Without mule). The tail swing made it handy enough that I seldom needed a mule. I added a new winch at the front in case it makes it easier to load sometimes. This one is sold also.

2019 ‘#4′ steering tail

Link at end for more pictures and videos. This is one of several custom builds by Conrad Martin. It was designed for both inventory capacity and back-yard maneuverability. Deck is 8.5′ wide and 25.5′ long collapsed, plus (5) 5′ extensions = 50.5′ extended length. Hydraulic disc brake 8k torsion. Weight of the trailer is only 8k lbs.; we regularly hauled 52′ of sheds (or 48’ plus Mule) without overloading axles, staying under 26k. Mono-frame enables simpler, lighter mule-mount. Kartech 24 button remote, electric and gas power with easy side access. Zero-maintenance powered rollers replace center chain. Articulated design takes place of tail side-shift and sideways wheels. Left and right tail sections tilt independently used for leveling, and with front edges up grips into shed skids. Lots of stainless. In continuous operation since 2019. Recent repaint, replaced pivot bushings. $55K.
